Madonna’s African documentary was directed by her gardener

Madonna, the pop diva who was recently inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame, has said that her new African awareness documentary was the work of her gardener. Madonna says that Nathan Rissman used to do a lot of work for her and was her gardener sometime ago. He was the one person she used to call on for doing any job and he always readily obliges with a smile. Madonna says that Rissman used to be a runner, a gardener, an intern as well a used to take care of her kids. She trusted him because of his very humble nature.

Madonna said that the idea to send him to shoot in Africa came when he sent her movies of her children and he used to make creative and realistic films using the photographs of her children. Madonna asked Rismann to go to Africa to document her film that focused on issues like famine; poverty and dreaded diseases like AIDS are problems that can be resolved with a little bit of effort from the developed nations. Madonna said that Rismann has taken great pains in filming this documentary in Africa and did not complain about the hardships he underwent during the shooting of the film in Malawi, Africa. Madonna says that his sincere efforts have not gone a waste as people have accepted the film with open hearts.
