Built to Spill planning for Fall Tour.

Built to Spill is planning to tour North America as well as Europe in this fall and are working on their new studio album which is to be released by Warner Bros in 2009. They have already recorded 15 songs for the new album from which they will select the best ones. During their tour they will perform the tracks from their 1997 album “Perfect from Now On”. The dates for the tour are yet to be announced, but they are expected to do some shows in the West Coast in September followed by performances in the East Coast including a live- entertainment at the My Bloody Valentine- All Tomorrow’s parties festival in New York. The fans of Built to Spill are sure to queue in large numbers to purchase tickets to the concerts once the tickets go on sale.

Mastodon churns out new album

Heavy metal afficionados will love the fact that Mastodon is about to release their new album. They have selected world renowned producer Brendan O’Brien to helm this project as a follow up to the profitable 2006 gem “Blood Mountain” which was their fourth effort under Relapse Records. “Blood Mountain” won various accolades and they were also named best guitar album by readers and editor of Total Guitar Magazine for  the year 2006. Fans will be glad to hear that recording is to commence immediately as there is no time like the present. Mastodon will also take some time to tour with the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival starting from July 9. This will take place at the White River Amphitheater in Seattle.

Cohen to perform at Sony Centre

Leonard Cohen, one of the most influential music artists, will perform at the Sony Centre for performing arts as part of his first leg of shows in Canada. He will perform for three days at the Sony Center starting from June 6th. The famous singer and song writer flagged off his live tour on May 11th. On May 23rd he will perform at Moncton, on May 26th at St. John’s and has included some more shows before his performance at Toronto. His live-entertainment will continue in Dublin and Manchester later in June. His world tour is expected to cover UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France, Portugal and Belgium.

Bow Wow to start 25- city Summer outing

Bow Wow, the rap star, has planned a big outing with headlining shows at the various theaters, clubs all across the country. The tour will launch officially on July 14th from New York City. He will cover the West Coast and will wrap up the tour at West Hollywood on August 17th. The tour covering 25-cities will have stops at 10 venues of House of Blues. Bow Wow wants to promote a number of albums which includes 2006 release “Price of Fame “and “Face Off” released last year, which features him along with his friend Omarion. His fans all over U.S are waiting for him to provide wholesome live entertainment.

Ozzfest scheduled for August 9th

This year’s OzzFest is scheduled for August 9th and the venue for this festival is Pizza Hut Park in Dallas. Sharon Osburne, Ozzy’s wife is co- producing the fest with AEG Live. It is expected that Metallica, Shadows Fall, Serj Tankian, Ozzy Osbourne and Apocalyptica are going to perform in this live entertainment event. This fest is more important to Osbourne as it is the only live performance for him this summer. Ticket sale for the Ozzfest will start from May 31st. The event will pay tribute to “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, the late Guitarist of Pantera. This one-day festival will also have acts of The Sword, Witchcraft, Devil Driver and Rigor Mortis.

Coldplay to enthrall audience across North America

The North American fans of the famous British alt rock band Coldplay are pretty much excited after hearing the news that the famed band group will be touring all over North America to promote their upcoming album “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends”. The first leg of the most anticipated tour will kick start on July 2nd in Washington DC and will cover a total of 30 centers across US and Canada in the months of July, August, October and November. Coldplay is all set to entertain their fans live at a free concert in New York’s Madison Square Garden on June 23rd to preview their new album and fans can win tickets to the concert by signing on the group’s website.

Radiohead performs in North America.

Fans of the popular rock band, radiohead have good reason to cheer. Radiohead has started its tour of

North America on the 5th of May. They are scheduled to perform in a number of states including

Florida,

North Carolina,

Vancouver, Missouri and

Texas. The tickets for the events are on sale now.

 

The band has already performed in

West Palm Beach and

Tampa in

Florida,

Atlanta,

Charlotte and Bristow. They are now scheduled to perform at the Verizon wireless amphitheatre in

St. Louis, Cynthia woods Mitchell pavilion in

Texas and Superpages.com center in

Texas. The tour comes to an end on the 18 May.

John Mellencamp announces summer tour

John Mellencamp is all set to undertake a summer tour around

United States in support of his latest album “Life, Death, Love and Freedom” that will be hitting the stores come July 15th.  This album will be the 23rd from the house of John Mellencamp and his die hard fans are pretty much excited about the prospect of watching him perform live during the concert tour that kick starts on July 7th.

The first show on July 7th and 8th is to be held at Philadelphia’s

Mann

Music

Center and his concert tour runs through till early August. John Mellencamp will be seen entertaining thousands and thousands of fans in live concerts at Jones Beach Theater on 10th of July, Bank of America Pavilion in Boston on 14th and 15th of July, Chicago’s Charter One Pavilion on 22nd July, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver on July 27th and finally at

California’s Greek Theater on August 2nd.

Stuntmen seriously wounded on Bond set

One stuntman was critically injured, all in the name of live entertainment when he performed a death defying stunt on the set of James Bond’s latest movie, “Quantum of Solace”. This happened at a notoriously winding lake side road situated in northern Italy . The experienced stuntman was in an Alfa Romeo car when the devastating accident occurred. He was warded but remained in very serious condition. Another stunt driver who was accompanying him was also hurt but managed to escape with minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is being thoroughly and meanwhile, filming for this multi million movie is being suspended. Official sources were quick to comment that neither the movie’s star Daniel Craig or its director Marc Foster was present when the accident happened.

3rd Annual Virgin Mobile Festival to be a musical extravaganza

The August showing of the 3rd Annual Virgin Mobile Festival is all set to be an electrifying and entertaining live event on August 9th and 10th as many olden era musicians are ready to perform this year. The organizers of the event have recently confirmed that Bob Dylan, Iggy pop, Chuck Berry and The Stooges have given their consent to perform in this gala musical show. The other prominent music personalities who have giving their willingness to participate in the Virgin Mobile fest includes Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West, The Offspring, Cat Power and Wilco.

 

The event promoter Seth Hurwitz is of the opinion that there is room for some more artists to perform during the August festival and is expecting that some artists will show up in the last minute similar to what happened last year. Fans around the Pimlico Race Course in the Baltimore Area will be gearing up to witness this mega event unfold in front of them.
