Martina McBride And Foo Fighters Tickets On Sale

Martina McBrideFoo Fighters’ tickets go on sale this week for 2 shows that will be held at Scotiabank Place next March. The band’s acoustic tour will make a stop on March 19. Famous country star Martina McBride is going to pay a visit March 29. The artist will be accompanied by Johnny Reid and Emerson Drive as opening acts. Hawksley Workman, Canadian rocker, will stop in Ottawa next February as part of a concert tour to promote his upcoming album, entitled Between the Beautifuls, that is due for release on January 29.

Bill Gates Visiting Kelly Clarkson Concert

It seems that Bill Gates is one of them. Amber Trillo said she spotted the local billionaire front and center in a Paramount Theatre balcony for Kelly’s concert yesterday and snapped a shot of him.

Christmas Concert for Cancer

The College of the Arts presents a Christmas show that aims at raising money for the Cancer Association of Namibia. The concert is entitled “Christmas Memories.” It will take place tonight in the Eros Dutch Reformed Church. Sponsored by Bank Windhoek the concert concludes with 3 works performed by the Windhoek Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Sonja Majewski. The orchestra will play Adeste Fideles by J.F. Wade, Sanctus by Gounod featuring Hermien Coetzee, and Silent Night by Gruber.

Alicia Keys And Annie Lennox At Nobel Concert

Annie Lennox, Alicia Keys, and Melissa Etheridge are set to play a Nobel Peace Prize concert that will honor former United States Vice President Al Gore as well as other Nobel laureates. The concert will take place on December 11 honoring representatives from the UN‘ climate change panel, who were also awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts in order to increase awareness about the problem of global warming.

Led Zeppelin Concert Put Back

Led Zeppelin’s concert that was originally scheduled for the end of November, has been postponed for 2 weeks after the band’s guitarist Jimmy Page broke a finger. The gig, at the O2 Arena was originally scheduled for November 26 but will now be held on December 10. Jimmy Page injured his finger last weekend and he was advised not to play guitar for a couple of weeks. Page himself said he was disappointed the band was forced to postpone the concert. The musicians said that all tickets for the November 26 show would be valid for the rescheduled show.

David Guetta releases new CD and Plans South Beach show

Upbeat tempos and perfect tones are signatures of the popular French DJ’s 3rd album, entitled “Pop Life.” His last record, “Guetta Blaster,” included the famous “The World is Mine” that topped both American and British dance charts. David Guetta faced the difficult task of improving his musical style with the popular singles from his first release. The new album’s 2nd single, entitled “Baby When the Light,” delivers crisp vocals and the complex beats; and the great “Love is Gone” has already reached No. 1 on the European dance charts and No. 9 nine on the United Kingdom singles chart. David Guetta will be making a stop in Miami on November 24 at Cameo on South Beach.

Akon Stage Collapse

A concert in the United States by a popular R&B star Akon has been cancelled after part of the stage collapsed, injuring 3 people, who were building the set for the outdoor show, that was scheduled to be held at Emory University in Atlanta. The workers were taken to hospital after a canopy fell on top of them. Akon, who is famous for such hits as I Wanna Love You, Smack That, and Don’t Matter, then called off the gig, scheduled for tomorrow night.

Gwen Stefani Donates Show Proceeds to Fire Victims in CA

The popular performer Gwen Stefani has vowed to help her native California State recover from the recent fires. The singer has decided to donate the profits from her recent gig to the victims of the wildfires. All proceeds from her gig in San Diego on October 30, 2007, will go to those suffering in the aftermath of the fires that began last week. Gwen Stefani also admitted she almost cancelled her concert after hearing thousands of residents had been evacuated.
