Led Zeppelin are back on track!

Led Zeppelin have played their first concert for more than 19 years, lasting about two hours, before nearly 20,000 fans in London. They opened the concert with Good Times Bad Times, the first track on the first album, then the greatest hits were played: Black Dog, Dazed and Confused, and finally after more than an hour, the legendary Stairway to Heaven. More than one million people took part in a secret ballot for the 9,000 pairs of tickets available for Monday’s show. Plant told the fans that the reunion had meant a lot to the group members.

Heath’s Birthday Concert

Jimmy Heath ConcertJimmy Heath is a lifelong small-group player with a passion for big groups. Heath 1st wrote on his own in ‘47 in Philadelphia. Then, Jimmy played in Dizzy Gillespie’s band in ‘49 and ‘50. The other alto player in that big group was Jimmy’s cohort John Coltrane, from Philadelphia as well. Before Jimmy played in Gillespie’s big band, so did James Moody. He was also a guest on the show. It was a constructive experience for both saxophonists. Jimmy confessed he still thinks about Gillespie every day.
