Super Bowl XLII - More Than A Fight Between Teams
The 2008 Super Bowl is down to the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. This is not the only competition that exists in this anticipated sporting event. With the Super Bowl right around the corner, it is no surprise that the advertisers have come out of the woodwork to get their fair share of exposure from this event. Three months ago, there was only ten percent of the advertising available for purchase. In 2006, the amount of a thirty second spot cost the prospective client 2.6 million dollars. This year, the amount of advertising has increased to 2.7 million but reached over ninety million viewers. In 2005, the amount for a thirty second advertising spot was 2.5 million. The only drawback to advertising with this event is the fact that its reach does not extent to other countries and is focused on the American market. For anyone interested in finding that perfect place on the list of those taking advantage of the offer, the FOX Network is offering a spot on MYSpace.com. Those who are in the lineup for the first time are Victoria Secret and Tide. It is speculated that the infamous GoDaddy.com commercials that dominated the 2006 Super Bowl commercial spectacular, will be keeping it quiet this year. With all these companies competing to be on top, who is going to notice the football?
